Gold and Diamond Park Dubai: Shops, Timings and Prices
Gold and Diamond Park is Dubai’s other big jewellery destination. The Emaar developed complex off Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Quoz opened in 2001, with showrooms on the ground floors and many jewellers’ workshops and offices above them. It is calmer than the Deira souk, easy to park at, and strongest on diamonds and made to order pieces.

Most diamond jewellery is made in 18K, because the harder alloy holds stones more securely than 22K or 24K. For diamond pieces, the 18K gold rate in Dubai is the number that matters.
How a diamond piece is priced
- Gold: the net gold weight times today’s rate for the karat, usually 18K.
- Making and setting: the labour to cast the piece and set each stone.
- Stones: priced by carat weight and grade, stone by stone or as a total.
- VAT: 5% on the whole piece, which visitors can largely reclaim.
Ask for the gold weight and the stone weight to be shown separately on the invoice. Stones should never be charged at the gold rate.

The park sits beside Sheikh Zayed Road on the Al Quoz side, between Dubai Marina and Downtown. The layout is a group of low rise buildings around open walkways, with showrooms facing the parking areas.

Opening hours
Most showrooms open from around 10am into the evening every day. On Friday many open later, after midday prayers. Hours vary by jeweller, so call ahead if you are visiting a particular showroom for a fitting or a collection.
What makes it different from the Gold Souk
- Diamonds and bridal sets. The mix of shops leans towards diamond jewellery, engagement rings and gem set pieces.
- Workshops on site. Many showrooms have manufacturing space upstairs, so custom designs, resizing, repairs and remodelling are handled in house.
- Quieter browsing. There are no crowds or street touts, which suits long decisions and larger purchases.
- Less choice of plain gold. With far fewer shops than the souk, the range of everyday 22K and 21K jewellery is smaller.

Ordering a custom piece
Made to order work is the park’s strength. A clear agreement at the start avoids surprises at collection.
- Bring a reference photo or sketch, and agree the karat.
- Ask for an estimated gold weight, since the final price depends on it.
- Agree the making charge and the price of each stone in writing.
- Agree whether the gold is priced at the rate on the order date or on collection day. Some jewellers fix the rate when you pay a deposit.
- Approve the design, often as a computer rendering or wax model, before casting.
- At collection, check the final weight against the estimate, the karat stamp and the itemised invoice.

Buying diamonds with confidence
- For larger stones, ask for a grading certificate from an independent laboratory and check that its number matches the stone.
- Compare stones on the four Cs: carat, cut, colour and clarity.
- Check the karat stamp on the setting. 750 means 18K.
- Keep the certificate, the invoice and the tax free tag together.

Remodelling or exchanging old gold
Many jewellers here will take your old gold against a new piece. The old gold is valued on its weight and karat at today’s rate, less a margin, and the making charge you paid originally is not returned.
